What to do with all those tomatoes.

I had a bunch of Roma Tomatoes and herbs left over from a photo shoot for Prego.  We slow roasted them with some olive oil, basil and thyme.  You can use them on sandwiches, salads or toss with some pasta.  Enjoy!

Side Trip Around Bermuda

Sooo after shooting a location job in Bermuda : ) we had a day to ourselves after the shoot.  So we took a day trip around the Island of Bermuda.  Started out by taking a 35 minute ferry ride from Kings Warf/Royal Navy Dockyard to the the town of St. George.  It was a very scenic ferry ride along the North Shore of Bermuda.  The town of St. George has really interesting, historic and colorful architecture.  That day was probably the hottest day of the whole trip.  After exploring St. George we took a cab ride/tour with a local cabbie down to Horseshoe Beach, a beautiful pink sand beach that has cool rock formations to explore.  After an afternoon on the beach exploring we took another cab ride back to the “Dockyard” to end our day.  It’s a cool place to put on your bucket list.

Iphoneography

This a collection of random images all taken and edited on the iPhone.  Food and other stuff.

Most people just shoot and post to social media.  Some things to consider before you shoot to improve your photography.  First, is composition, if you are shooting food or drinks, choose a point of view that is different from the way we always see it.  Straight in or up a little for a “Heroic” view.  This composition works well with things like sandwiches, drinks and anything that has some height to it.  Straight down, which works well for frying pans, plates of food and things like pizza, most flat things.  Look for shapes, colors and textures.  You can tilt the camera for a different point of view.  Take the lighting into consideration as well.  Color and quality.  Light can be warm or cool, harsh or soft.  Natural light from a window is good but you can make artificial light work too with a little help from the many apps available on the app store after it is shot.  Most food looks freshest when it is moist.  Try to get some highlights on it if you can.  For things like bread, color and texture are important.  Use the light to bring it out in whatever you are shooting.  Don’t forget, your knees bend!  So try something different.  Happy shooting!
